World Famoso’ Mexican restaurant chain is ready for the busy spring season
As the popular tourist destinations on the continue to rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Wilma, they are one step closer to the 100% recovering with the reopening of all Carlos ‘n Charlie’s restaurants.
Cancun, Q. Roo, Mexico – Recovery efforts from Hurricane Wilma are moving faster than ever expected. Many restaurants and hotels in the area are using the re-building efforts as an opportunity to make upgrades and enhancements, and most beaches have been restored and are now more beautiful than ever.
Cancun received the most amount of damage by far from Hurricane Wilma, but it is ready and eager for tourism to pick back up. Though there is still a lot of reconstruction in the area, Cancun’s typically upbeat attitude is in full gear as hotels, shops, and restaurants reopen for business.
Grupo Anderson’s, Mexico’s largest restaurant group and parent company of Carlos ‘n Charlie’s, has now reopened all of the locations damaged by the storm, including restaurants in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. As a leading chain in that area, they are sure to influence other restaurants to reopen as well.
“Because of its popularity in these areas, Carlos ‘n Charlie’s has become a leader among other restaurants groups,” says David Krouham, CEO of Grupo Anderson’s. “As a result, we’ve had a number of restaurant and nightclub owners planning their re-openings around ours.”
The Carlos ‘n Charlie’s in Playa del Carmen suffered minimal damage and was able to reopen within weeks of the Category 4 Hurricane hitting the Yucatan peninsula. The other two locations, however, suffered more significant damage; the Cozumel location opened in late December, and Carlos ‘n Charlie’s Cancun reopened on Jan. 20.
With 14 locations in major tourist destinations throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, Carlos ‘n Charlie’s is a timeless restaurant and bar, reflecting the witty and carefree attitude of its founder, Carlos Anderson’s, and creating memories for travelers of all ages.
Carlos ‘n Charlie’s Cancun-based parent company, Grupo Anderson’s, currently operates eight restaurant brands throughout Mexico, the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and South America. Other popular concepts include Señor Frog’s, which recently made its debut into the U.S. market and El Shrimp Bucket.
